Oilers Sign Corey Perry to One-Year Contract

Perry Returns to Lineup for Game 4 of Western Conference Final

Forward Adds Depth and Experience to Edmonton's Lineup

The Edmonton Oilers have announced the signing of veteran winger Corey Perry to a one-year contract worth 750,000 with up to an additional 325,000 in performance bonuses. The signing comes after the Chicago Blackhawks terminated Perry's contract earlier this season.

Perry, 38, has been practicing with the Oilers since his contract termination and made his return to the lineup in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars. He has nine points in 16 games with Edmonton this season.

"Corey is a proven winner and a great addition to our team," said Oilers General Manager and President of Hockey Operations Ken Holland. "He's a veteran leader who knows how to win and he'll be a valuable asset to our group."

Perry is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Anaheim Ducks and has been named to three NHL All-Star teams. He has also represented Canada at the Olympics and World Championships.

The Oilers are hoping that Perry's experience and leadership will help them get past the Stars and advance to the Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton is currently trailing Dallas 2-1 in the series.
